i have had a constant heat problem with first my T-bird 1.2 & now my 1700+ (cpu idle about 55 C)

but never had a good set up

but havegone out & taken care of that with some good case fans & a finding a seller of Arctic Silver 3

so now i am on idle : CPU 34 case 27 (but can only get that with case open, still high when its closed up, bad exhaust fan i guess)

so how do i overclock an athlon 1700+ ??

read the magic pencil article once, but is that for t-bird only ??

any advice would be great!!

PS is Easy Tune overclocking a load of s**t ?? being its just a software overclock ?!?!

thanx all

DivideBYZero why do you say it should be more out than in?

My theory is the opposite. If you push more air in than out you will not have the dust problems creeping through your PC if everything is properly filtered that is. This will give better cpu cooling because you wont have dustmites collecting in the fins as badly. I have 120cfm in and about the same out. Going to drop one of my out fand down to 7v to decrease the out so i keep the case pressurized.

Another thing, if you have more out than in it will put a small negative pressure on the entire case causing your HS/F to implode! haha JK.

Just my theory if theres a better reason to have more out than in please tell.
