I wonder about

1. In win 2000, it is well up and running but for days it has been at 5% not advancing but indeed calculating. what is up with that?

2. In win 98SE she calculates and yesterday had acheived 65% when I turned the computer of, now it starts at 0% again!. Must I let it run the entire course? Can't it save/ freeze?

Need help, the idea is good, but I won't stand it bullying me around like that!

it doesn't save data very often from what i've seen on the forums, but it does every once in a while. for the win 2k one check your task manager and make sure its getting cycles.

Did you restart your computer by shutting it down/restarting or did you just hit the reset button? When the computer is not shut down properly it does not save your work. Believe me I have lost over 4 days of work on my main pc because of this. If you do restart correctly, it should start at the beginning of the molecule that you left off on. (each % represents 1 molecule so each work unit has 100 molecules. But each molecule can be comprised of up to 100 similar molecules. This is what the -XX number at the end of the molecule name represents.)

So if you were to restart your machine that is still at 5% you would have to start that molecule from the very beginning which would probably take a long time to get just get back to your place from where you turned off the computer. I believe they are working on a fix for this, but for now we just have to live with it. Just don't try to force reboot your computer and try not to restart while its been working on a molecule for many hours and it should go smoothly. Of course this is easier said than done.

I find it much better to run it on computers thats aren't really being used because then they are less likely to crash and lose work.
