Newbie to partitioning....questions inside!

First of all, can you have two partitions with different file systems(NTFS and FAT32) on the same hard drive? If I download a program in one partition and install it, but the program needs to install files in the Windows directory which is on a different partition, would there be any problems their? TIA.

well, there is one thing.. if u got data on the NTFS partition, and you are in win98 (fat32 native) then u wont see it if its on the same drive. but if the data is on the fat32 and you are in win2k/xp (ntfs native) u can see the fat32 data
