newbie? system cant find file

I am trying to load Win2000 on a new WD harddrive, and it gets to right where it starts putting files on the drive, when it stops and says" cant find file; autofmt.exe" press enter to try again, or esc to skip file, windows may not run properly, blah, blah. Do I need this file? Or, can I skip it? Thanx a lot..
