Newbie suggestions and can I still overclock without "unlocking" the cpu?

Noob overclocker here :)

Just wondering if I need to unlock my Palomino XP 2100+ to successfully overclock? Or can I stil overclock with stock multiplier? I got my feet wet with overclocking by increasing the fsb to 142 using stock multiplier (13) on my Asus A7V333 mb. This brought the speed from 1.73 to 1.85.

This is my first time overclocking and I need some help from all you experts here. What should I do next? Just increase the fsb? Increasing the vcore pumps more 'juice' so to speak into the cpu, correct? Should I increases this as well? If so, when should I increase my vcore?

What are the possible dangers of this? What if the system doesn't post? How can I get into the bios to change to default settings or lower fsb?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the link, but what about the multiplier? Is it essential to change the multiplier or can I still overclock with the default multiplier. (The site does not mention multipliers since part II of the guide is not posted).

You can always overclock with the default multiplier as long as your ram and pci/agp cards can handle a higher front side bus speed.

The only way to find out is increase your front side bus speed slowly and test each setting for stability.
