Hello, this is my first post here at Anandtech and I want to thank everyone for the information I have already read! Thanks so much! I have a question about digital sound cards.

We use a mini disc to record concerts and input track marks while recording. What would the best digital sound card for the price (good card but low price) with a digital input? Also, will I lose the track marks when bringing the audio to the computer?

Do they make a minidisc drive for the computer? Or no..?

Thanks,
Darren

For a good cheap sound card with digital in, I would suggest a Hercules Fortissmo II. There are no built in minidisk drives available, you have to buy a sony PC if you want one. I'm not sure about the other questions because I don't own a minidisk player.

What kind of digital I/O ports do minidisk players have(optical or wires)?

They do have minidisks for computers that act like floppy drives. They are not common. I believe Sony has one for one of their computer models. Do a search.
