Newbie Questions - Audrey on a network

I just picked up a 3com Audrey on clearance, and am interested in setting it up to share my broadband connection. A few questions:

As the Audrey requires a certain USB ethernet card in order to use a broadband connection, do I have the option of running a wireless network or one through existing phone lines?

If I actually decide to run RJ45 cable to the Audrey, do I need a switch or router, or can I set up internet connection sharing from my desktop pc?
