I was wondering how different brand motherboards with the same chipset and set up the same can vary up to 5% on benchmarks.
I assume the bios has a lot to do with it but does the actual layout of the board make a difference?

chipset is a big part, but each board maker can use very different designs, and different quality of parts... the board design (and parts) can have a huge impact on not just performance but also stability
