I already have 2 comp connecting to the internet via a SMC Barricade router and external cable modem. Here's is my question, how can I access files between the 2 comp? Do I need anymore equipment(switch, hub?) Thank you in advance. Oh, both are connected via ethernet cards.

Um...I don't think so. All it has is 4 ethernet port at the front. Are you saying that I need a switch?

You Don't need more hardware to share!

Sharing for Win98SE

Make sure that you log on as Client for Microsoft Network.

There are three places to be checked for sharing,

The first two are in Control Panel, Network.

1. TCP/IP (or any other protocol that you are using for sharing) In the
properties of the protocol it has to be bound to Client for Microsoft Network,
and Sharing is Checked.

2. The general File and Print Sharing have to checked.

The third: In My Computer, individual Drive or/and printer has to be shared.

CD-ROM can be shared (from Network point of view it is just another drive.)

Double click on My Computer, right click on the Drive Letter of the CD-ROM,

And then what Jack??? I right click the CD-ROM and the hard drives, but I didn't see any option for sharing the device. Need more info. THank.

It sounds like you still don't have File and Print sharing installed

Go to Network from the Control Panel and double check that File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks is in the installed components list.
