Im interested in upgrading my processor and i am wondering how do you know what motherboard and cpu combo will fit my case? I currently have a gateway 333mhz p111 . WITH AN 4A4LL0X0.15A.0014.P11 PROCESSOR. I need to know what combo will fit this case.preferably a p111 1 ghz or higher.
I would prefer a motherboard and cpu and fan all in one. any help would be appreciated.

first thing... find out if that case is ATX... if it's not...

get a new case($50) and then get a new mobo/cpu/hsf

Right, make sure you have an ATX case. Then if you do I recomend Abit KT7a with a Athalon T-bird processor (your choice of speed). If you go to pricewatch you look at motherboard combos it gives listing of pre-asembeled combos. Meaning the heatsink, fan, processor are already installed for ya

if u need to get a new case, go to the hot deal forum and do a lil search. i remember seeing some really hot deals on cases over there.

Ok here you state you have a 333MHz p3(witch does not exist) and then you say you have a p2.

Unless overclocked p3's are not available at retail clock speeds of over 1GHz.

just about every PII MB is ATX

if you want to be for sure
open the case & read the part# off the motherboard (should be like 4000369)

then go here & look up that part#
it will give you all the specs on the board
