[NEWBIE QUESTION] Where can I find out what card I have?

Today i went to Best Buy to look through their 9600SEs to see if they happened to have any with the 180336XXX or 180339XX S/Ns. They only had 2 there, so i looked at the SNs, and they both were 180347XXX. However, after looking more closely, i noticed that one of them was a 9600XT and the other was a 9600SE, both with the same beginning SN numbers. So i decided to take a gamble and see if some XTs got placed in SE boxes. Well - when i run the diagnostic that comes on the CD with the card, it lists the card as a RV350 and as a 9600 PRO. My assumption is that the 9600 SE has the same basic architecture and that that program will recognize all 9600s as Pros. The problem, though, is I can't figure out exactly what i have from any other place. On the ATI website, there's no where to list the S/N, but when i put in the P/N or the Bios Number, neither one of them seem to be valid. Everything on my computer simply lists the card as a 9600 Series (which i've noticed when looking at screenshots in different forums taht the Pro says the same thing).

This probably is elementary stuff. I'm BRAND SPANKING NEW into the deeper realm of computing, so i know very little. If there are any other threads that explain this, please point me in teh correct direction. If there are any diagnostic programs out there, i'd love to download them and use them. But Google searches have proved futile thus far (mainly b/c i'm not sure exactly what i'm looking for).

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

THANKS! Showing my noobishness here, but that was a great diagnostics tool. Ran it, and though it didn't explicitly state what card it was (said 9600 series), it did show the memory bus width as being 64 bit ... meaning it's a 9600 SE ... right? I suppose i'll be taking it back tomorrow, oh well, for a bit i had hope

Thanks again. Taking the card back to Best Buy. Out of frustration, i splurged last night and bought a 9800 Pro for 235 on Ebay. Now i'll (hopefully) be done with the video card curse once and for all.
