your gonna have to buy an IDE cable that splits the its connects to the devices you want. IE: one connector to 3 of your devices and another connector to the other two devices

Ahahah.... alright buddy first you gotta work on your spelling.... its motherboard and the connectors are called IDE slots...
Ok now that I have that out of my system your gonna have to buy an IDE cable that splits the its connects to the devices you want. IE: one connector to 3 of your devices and another connector to the other two devices. You might consider spliting the hard drives on separate channels because the IDE data speeds are fixed so if you want to maximize performance of those hd's then separate them. However some optical drives require a master connection... in that case you'd have to have the two hard drives on the same connector.

It's 2 devices per channel: 1 master and 1 slave.
Get a PCI card if you want to add IDE channels, or ditch one of the optical drives. (why do you need 3 anyways?)

You can't have 3 IDE devices on one channel, moron. You can only have one Master and one Slave device on a channel. "However some optical drives require a master connection" - BS... I've never seen any EIDE device that only worked as a master device; must be user error if this happened to you. Don't bother answering a person's question unless you know what you're talking about.
As for a real answer: you need to buy a PCI IDE controller. You can get a Promise Ultra100 TX2 for about $25 on Price Watch.

Hey buddy if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all... I caught my error and thanked the other guy for pointing it out... as for some optical devices needing a master connector my TDK burner needs a master and I have the manual to prove it. Anyone else who has any optical drive that needs a master connection post it so this ding dong can shut up.

I think more or less he's pointing out the irony of your first statement. You laugh at the guy for mis-spelling a couple words, all the while giving faulty advice out.
Anyways, if you need 5 IDE devices, you need at *least* 3 IDE channels. Otherwise, consider selling one of them or put it in another machine.

You mean this CCNA and MCSE certified ding dong? Your TDK burner doesn't NEED to be master. They probably RECOMMEND you have it installed as a master device. I guarantee if you plug it in as a slave, the BIOS will detect it and it'll work just fine. Now if the drive doesn't have a master/slave/cs jumper, it's just a piece of sh1t. Man, people like you need to shut their fvcking mouths and not mess with people who are obviously superior to them.
Fvck you, Rig.

Oh i get it... its Ok for "Superior" people like you to have a spelling error, but its not ok for me to have a lapse of judgement. Come off of it because you're no god. Your probably some f@t@ss sitting over his computer all day, nicknamed the unhappy camper for obvious reasons.

You really are stupid. How many people here DON'T use computers all day long. (not, ALL day long, but most of the day)??? Like I could be a sys admin without using computers all day... moron. I'm not a fatass either.
Edit: a spelling error due to a mis-placed finger while typing does not even COMPETE with somebody who gives a completely wrong answer after flaming a n00b for a spelling error (idea instead of IDE).

There is also an alternative to your situation. If you don't use all those IDE devices at the same time, you might want to consider the HD selector.
