Hello all, sorry for the newbie question but this is a first attempt at this.....we all have to start somewhere....huh.

I'm trying to play MOHAA in multiplayer and I can connect to someone elses' game but I do not know how to configure my D-Link 704 router to let me host a game.

I went through the little booklet that came with the router but it is very technical and no step by step process for us noobs.

Thanks for everyone's help.

As with most routers, in order to enable game hosting, you need to open the ports that the game uses to communicate on. Not sure what those ports are, though. If you can't find that information, you can configure the computer you want as host to be in the "DMZ" which makes it open to the internet. Then all the client has to do is connect to your IP address. HTH

I have a D-link DI-704P (router/switch/printserver), and I'm having similar problems with Jedi Knight 2...

...ever since I upgraded to the JK2 1.03 patch, when I go into the 'join server' screen in the game, the server list remains empty. I'm not understand why this is the case. I've tried explicitly opening the ports that JK2 uses, and I've even tried the DMZ thing, to no avail.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? thanks.
