Newbie Question about P4A and Epoxy

Do the P4A series require epoxy? I recently just picked up a setup and remembered watching somebody at work put together rigs with P4B chips and he never used epoxy on them and they kept normal temperature and everything. I have been out of the Intel loop for a while and are just coming back now so I do not have a clue if the P4As need epoxy or do not need any.

Do you mean heat sink compound instead of "epoxy?" The P4 CPUs need _something_ to help transfer the heat to the heatsink, be it heat sink compound or the black pad underneath most retail boxed heatsinks. If that person at your work was using retail box heatsinks on unoverclocked systems, no compound required.
