Newbie question about HD viewing

would it be possible to view OTA HD programming on my standard (4:3) 17" LCD? I am thinking of just picking up a HD Tuner card and couldn't find the answer on yahoo or google (maybe because its a stupid question but I was curious). Thank you

You can watch it, you'll just have a letterboxed picture similar to a widescreen DVD on a 4:3 screen.

720p is 1280x720 so if your monitor does that or better you will see 720p.

a 17" doesnt support high enough resolution for 1080i or p but those resolutions will be scaled down to fit your monitor and still look good enough.
