Newbie question about dsl routers

I'm starting to look into a dsl router and I'm a bit confused. Does anyone have any suggestions for good ones? What sort of features should I be looking for? What makes a good/quality/bad firewall?

I use the Linksys, and it's a mighty fine piece of work. I have two D-Link DSS-8 switches plugged in to it, with a very oddball mix of systems, nodes and NIC's. Works like a champ.

BUT, there have been reports of problems setting it up for online gaming. The only game I've ever tried online is UT, which works fine.

The Linksys has worked for me.

I have had no trouble using it for web surfing, e-mail, chat, napster, Quake III, UT, or NHL2000. I have had a variety of systems hooked up to it besides my own, again with no trouble.
