Where can I find SETI? And would the CPU cycles "half out" if I ran SETI and RC5 simutaneously?

It's my understanding (though I don't do SETI) that both can peacefully co-exist.
I believe - correct me if I'm wrong folks -

the dnet rc5 client can be run with the SETI screensaver mode - and that works pretty well. I'm going only from my recollection of previous threads 🙂

if you run Seti at all times (meaning, not in just screen saver, but rather all the time), Seti will take precedence over RC5. But like DanC said, many people run RC5 (less overhead on system resources) while working, and let S@H kick in for the screen saver.

So you can run both at the same time, but really, if both are running continuosly, S@H will use up all your cycles.

Or if your computer does not have a 100% connection to the net (like my laptop), I run them both all the time. RC5 does a little cracking (SETI doesn't use 100% of the CPU all the time). When SETI hits the end of a WU, RC5 turns on and cracks at max speed until I dial in to get another SETI WU.

The other way to set it up is to run SETI as a screensaver (make sure to blank the screen in the screen saver settings) and RC5 in normal mode. When you use the computer (screensaver is not active), RC5 uses all the spare CPU cycles.

I love your sig....one question though, I never have seen a VLB 386 board. But then again, I've never seen a 386 run Win2K either...Like I've always said, you can do a lot with a 386, but you can't do it very fast!
