Newbie p4p800 question

Don't have the bucks to upgrade everything at once so I was wondering if I could run my p4 2.4 533 chip on this board? Also, I only have pc2700 ddr at this point.

Can I even run on a P4P800 with my 2.4 533MHz chip and pc2700 ram (then upgrade ram and processor later)?

Thank you for your support. I know I can research this myself, but I may order today and didn't want to get gear that just sits around for a while. I will download the manual and study it.

A few more simple questions for those who might want to help.

I'm still a little confused about the interplay of RAM with the 800MHz chips. For example, a 2.4C runs with a multiplier of 12 and an FSB of 200MHz, correct? To run the chip at its rated speed would I need to have PC3500 (running at 200MHz FSB)? So, if I pop a 2.4C in a P4P800 but use my PC2700 I would effectively be underclocking it?

Also, if I just get the board and use my P4 533 with my PC2700 could I still run in dual channel? I know this chip will do 3.0 (but my current board doesn't have a PCI/AGP lock!) so I guess I could run at 18 X 166 for 2988MHz in dual channel mode (or non-dual channel if I wish?). Assuming that my processor will do that (and I think it will), is this a correct assumption for the use of this board with my current chip and PC2700 RAM.

Thanks again!

Intel procs do not allow for multiplier change. You will have to manipulate only FSB for an overclock. And your 2.4 G chip runs at 533 (133*4) FSB and not 200*2 FSB.Of course you can run it at 100*4 by changing FSB via Bios or jumper.
