Ok, if you read my other post which I won't link, you can see I have been wishy washy on how to configure a new system. I've read so many articles and reviews at how easy it is to over clock a Intel E2160 (notably a nice article in Tom's Hardware) that I am now leaning in putting together a system to over clock a E2160 but have a couple of questions and assumption verifications.

Ok, above processor on mb runs on a quad pumped bus speed of 200 Mhz which is also the speed to access the memory, correct? From what I read DDR2 800 memory runs at a memory speed of 400 so already it is way overkill, right? So if I increase the FSB to 1333 Mhz, giving a bus speed of 333 Mhz, that is still easily within 400 Mhz speed requirements of the memory. At a CPU multiplier of 9 for the E2160, that would give a CPU speed of 3.0 Ghz. But I'm missing the boat somewhere in my assumptions because Tom's Hardware says at 3.2 Ghz which is what his system ran at , you're now over clocking the memory a bit.

Hopefully someone can help me straighten out where I'm going wrong in my assumptions and my basic question is that if I buy a system to over clock a E2160 to 1300 Mhz which is the maximum I would even consider doing, can I do so without over clocking or stressing any other components then the CPU? If at that speed will any cheap DDR2 800 memory suffice?

You'll be fine with the $15 AR 1GB 1.8V DDR2 667 HP RAM at hot deals forum. RAM is rated at 333MHz (9 x 333 core speed), but you can oveclock it to 400MHz for 3.6GHz CPU core speed (400 x 9) with 2.0Vdimm and 5-5-5-15-2T timing. You'll need a good MB like the Abit IP35-E to extract the full potential of the E2160. Today is the last day to qualify for the $20 rebate at MWAVE. Final cost AR is $70 plus shipping and applicable tax. There's a review of this board @ MB forum.
