Newbie overclocking question

Nocturnal

Lifer
I'm attempting to overclock my Winchester 3200+.

I have stock cooling and the rig is listed in my signature.

I attempted to change the fsb to 240 and then the multiplier to 10x. What happend was when it rebooted it said System failed memory check. Even when I cleared my CMOS I had a hard time booting the system back up.

I left everything else at auto.

Should I change the vcore voltage to 1.5?

Change your memory speed. i.e., if you have DDR 400 change it to DDR333 cause 400*240/200 is DDR480, which I'm sure your memory can't handle (unless you have crazy expensive ram). If you change it to 33 you get 333*240/200 = DDR400. So your putting things back to normal for your ram. I run my ram at stock speeds cause AMD systems don't see much performance gain from increasing your memory bandwidth. Just make sure your latencies, which they are in the above example.

What is your ram speed?
