Hi all

Bee reading the posts in this forum for a few weeks now and have picked up lots of useful tips / info. Thought I'd share my first attempt at building a DIY system with you and hopefully get some feedback. Ok here are the system stats:

P4 2.8C @ 3.01Ghz
Stock HSF
Asus P4P800 mb (FSB 215mhz)
Kingston ValueRam 2x512mb (DDR3200 - 400mhz) at 1:1 and timings of 2.5,3,3,5
ATI Radeon 9500 Pro 128mb
Maxtor Diamond 9+ 80Gb SATA drive
CoolerMaster ATC100 case

Benchmarks:

3D Mark 2001SE - 13.7k
PCMark 2002 - CPU 7478, Mem 9232, HDD 1280

Temps (Using AsusProbe):

MB - Idle 29C, Load 34C
CPU - Idle 30C, Load 49C - 51C

So I shall now ask that infamous newbie question - is my system running ok and are my temps ok?? :)

From what I've read I don't think I'm going to overclock beyond 3Ghz as my memory probably won't be able to cope if I I want to keep 1:1 timings. I also think I should have gone with a different case as the ATC100 has a huge 120mm intake fan which blows directly onto the CPU but limits what kind of HSF I can fit. Was thinking of getting an SLK800 or Zalman 7000 but don't think it will fit because of the intake fan casing! Ah well....live and learn

Any comments? :)

Cheers

Your sys seems to work fine, although u would want to keep those temps down by getting a better cooler.
