Newbie OC'ing question (AMD 2500+)

Are there any guides for a beginner overclocker for the 2500?

I have a 2500+ on an Asus A7N8X mobo. Last night, I tried setting the FSB from 166 to 175 and it won't even get past post. Did some more reading this morning and am going to try raising the voltage up to 1.7 or 1.75 and try again. A guide to what I should try first would help me immensely.

What type of ram are you running?
If its PC 2700 (rated to run at 166) it might not like to be overclocked to 175. That could be your problem.
If you where to run PC3200 (200mhz) you would be free to raise your FSB to 200Mhz without haveing any problem related to ram. Thats if it is indeed a problem related to ram.

I have the same setup, and it only works at 166 or 200 fsb. Any in between setting is unstable, and it won't even post at 204. It's been rock soild at 200 for over a year now.
