Newbie - no "send" button on PM screen?

Sorry about this idiot question - but I've searched the forum on this one and haven't found the answer.

I can receive PMs OK but when I try and send one I get the little message box OK with all the text and link buttons but nothing that has "send" on it.

How do I get the damn thing to go to the guy I want it to?

TIA. John.

Looking at one now -nope there's nothing at the bottom left except for "done". That was where I was expecting it to be from my (very limited) experience of other forums.

There's obviously stuff missing from my PM box - the box is very similar to the one I'm typing in and this has "reply to topic" and "preview" etc shown.

The PM box has no "maximise" icon in the top right and "hovering" over the corners of the box doesn't indicate I can re-size the thing.

Any idea how I can "restore" the missing stuff?

TIA again. John.

Had a thought.

I'm running Firefox as my browser and thought I'd see what the PM box looked like in IE6.

And guess what - there's the "send private message" button as good as gold.

Should I report this problem - and if so who to?

There should be no "reply to topic" or "preview" option in a PM. There are alot of people using firefox on here so I would think that it would have been brought up already. Regardless, this is the place to post such an issue but Jason & Co. are sleeping so it probably won't get addressed until tomorrow.

Thanks for replying. I was only using "reply to topic" etc to show that I appreciated there was stuff misiing from the foot of the box.

I'm sure you're right about this being a "known issue" - what was a bit concerning was that I couldn't find it in a search of this forum. Maybe it should go in the FAQ?

Of course it's certainly not beyond the bounds of possibility that I'm the only one with the problem!

Oh

Nah, that is what I was confused about. It would be posted in forum issues, and it wouldn't be in the FAQ. The FAQ is more of how things work when they're supposed to.

That would be odd, only other thing you could do is to post about it in the software forum. Just explain that you get a normal PM box in IE but not in firefox. Hopefully someone will be browsing around and know more about firefox than I do. Other than that just keep this thread and wait for a reply.

Fusetalk must be using Javascript to prevent window resizing and disable scrollbar visibility (neither are wise things to do). For some reason, I don't have this problem with Firefox 1.0.1, but I have neutered Javascript by disabling everything except Change Images (used for some rollover effects which I don't mind) in Tools > Options > Web Features > Advanced Javascript Options. It could be something to try. :)
