Newbie Networking Questions

These are newb questions so bear with me. If I have a router that has 3 ports, external internal and dmz and currently have internal to switch on intenal network, external to external, where should i place the webserver? In the DMZ or between the External and Firewall.

Most would say DMZ, but depending on hardware, you need to configure port forwarding (most likely)

If placed in the DMZ, would it use the IP address given to me by the web register? Is there a good site to learn about DMZ and configuration. Thanks
