I'm behind a University Firewall and I'm trying to find out what port I can set the program DirectConnect to so that I'm not blocked. Any ideas?
 
I have an idea! Don't do it without permission! It's a felony and you could be booted from school.
 
Usually it's not just firewall, it's proxy firewall, NATed, so you won't be able to connect from outside without changes on it.
Also, i'm sure, it's against any security policy. But to give you an idea see what webex can dowebex
it cost money, but works pretty good (remote desktop and other features)
