I am trying my hand at my first build. I have read some of the guides at Anandtech, and one of the boards they recommend (in there AMD mid-range system build under Guides) is the DFI INFINITY NF ULTRAII-M2 MOB. In the same article they use OCZ S.O.E 2x1GB DDR2-667 memory. What confuses me is this: In the specs for the DFI board it lists the memory standard as DDR2-533. I admit that I don't know what that means, but it seems to me that one possible meaning may be that the board is able to handle up to that memory. Is this correct, or am I mistaken? What does "memory standard" mean in terms of MOBs? Can the DFI board use DDR2-667, or even 800 if I want to upgrade in future? I am interested in this board because it is inexpensive and has other features I like.
Thanks for helping out a rookie! -p.s. - If you have other rec. for low budget MOBs, I am open to them.
