Hey everyone. I just built my first computer. I thought it was about time. Anyway here is my setup:

1.2 Athlon w/ 266 fsb
KT7a mboard.

I would like to overclock it, but I am a little green. I have looked thru the softmenu setup and see the muliplier and stuff, but I can't access it. It will allow me to change the voltage, cpu speed, and a few other enable/disable switches only. I have tried putting cpu to 1250, but it won't boot up completely.

Can anyone offer me any advice on where to start?

Thanks-

Jason

well, if you didnt do the pencil trick, you cant change the multiplier. if it wont stay stable when you bump the FSB, the a little more voltage may help, but you should have adequate cooling so things dont start to sizzle.
my $0.02

Thats what I need..Thanks..Keep it coming.

What kind of performance are people getting out of this configuration? Is it worth it without all the crazy cooling?

You need to disable speed hold error. You also need to set the cpu speed to user define.(note that i dont know exacly what these setings are called in your bios though)
