newbie mysql user help needed!!!

I am trying to setup TUTOS on redhat9 running apache 2.0

I created a mysql database named tutos all seems OK but in the config file for tutos I have to specify a database user and password.

how do I assign a user and password to a specific database? is it maybe from the user I was looged in as when I created the database?

You can just give it root access, but if you are worried, and/or have other people using that database, you'll probably want to set up users and permissions. Some useful links:

Thanks for the links that gave me the info I needed my syntax was a little off
