I'm getting ready to build a computer
ddr motherboard 1.33
either a 760 chipset or a
K7T266 Pro - Raid

I'm not sure about the 760's but the MSIk7t266 raid has an IDE controller

"
An IDE controller on the VIA VT8233 chipset provides IDE HDD/CD-ROM with PIO, Bus Master and Ultra DMA 33/66/100 operation modes.
Can connect up to four IDE devices."

I want to connect a CDRW, DVD, floppy, and a zip,and just one hard drive(for now)

what kind of cables will I need to Buy, links would be great,
I don't wanna be left with out any cables when building my system.

Also would the cable amount be differnt between athe MSI with raid and a 760 board with out.

premptive Thanks i need the help!!!

the cables would come with the motherboard, but basically you need 40pin 80 connector (standart ata66/ata100) ide cables and for the floppy you just need a standart 34pin floppy cable

Check out the forums on the MSI website about this mobo. I read a lot of complains about this board. Better buy an Iwill board KK266-raid or KA266-raid including a free 128MB DDR PC2100 stick. You will also have more raid options with the Iwill board raid 0, raid 1 and raid 1/0.

Yes the cables usually come with the retail motherboard. I would suggest maybe the Epox 8K7A+ which has the AMD 761 northbridge and RAID. This board has tons of features and would easily enable you to hook up your four IDE devices now and allow for four more device in the future. Just my thoughts on the subject.
