I am getting ready to pick up a home theatre system and have a few newb questions. I am getting a Kenwood HTB-505. Below are the questions

1. The receiver only has 2 s-video inputs on it and 1 s-video out. Now I assume the s-video go to the TV. I have a Dreamcast, VCR and Direct TV setup that I would like to pipe into the receiver using S-video. Since I only have 2 inputs I am guessing I will need some sort of switch for 2 of the devices. Is this correct? If so will the Swtich degrade quality any at all?

2. I am using a DirectTV setup and was thinking of rewiring some. Will the length of the coaxial cable affect picture quality that much. The install kit that cam with the receivers for the Satellite had I think 75' Cables in it. Right Now from LNB to Receiver 1 I am only using 20-25' feet. The rest is looped midway a few times to take up slack. If I get more cable and run just a little more than I need will I notice the difference between 20-25' and 75' of coaxial?

3. The way I plan to connect everything is as follows, please critique this method.

S-Video Out from Receiver > TV S-video In
Optical Out from DVD > Receiver Optical In
S-Video Out from Satellite > Receiver S-Video In
S-Video Out from DreamCast > S-video Switch > Recevier S-Video In
S-Video Out from VCR > S-Video Switch > Recevier S-Video In

Thanks for all the answers.
