Alrighty then. . .first post here. Think this is the right category for it.

I'm looking to upgrade my computer. I'm not really a techie-type when it comes to stuff like this. (I installed my CD burner on my own, but that's about it.) I found the Step Thermodynamics homepage, and was pretty intrigued by what they were offering in one of their package deals (a 1 GHz Thunderbird overclocked to 1.2 GHz, a cooling system, motherboard, and 256MB of PC150 RAM for $396.) I'm currently running a Celeron 400 with 128 MB of RAM with a 3.5" disk drive, a CD-ROM drive, and a CD burner. Here are my questions:

1) Does anyone here have any experience with Step Thermodynamics? I have heard some complaints about them, but all the complaints seem to be dated a year ago or so. When I talked to their rep on the phone, he sounded like a good guy, and willingly answered all my questions.

2) Is that a good price for the aforementioned equipment? If not, where would be a better place to get a similiar set-up?

3) If I do purchase the aforementioned package, what else would I need? I intend to get a video card, and have been told that a power supply is probably needed as well (I don't know what kind of power supply is in my current system. . .sorry.)

I thank anyone who is willing to help me out on this matter in advance. Your advice and guidance is much appreciated.

Depending on your current system you may need:

Best case:
Nothing else

Worst case:
Case+Power supply
Vidcard
Sound card
Modem/netcard.
