Hey guys? I?m a newbie when it comes to building computers. I need some advice. I have a thermaltake volcano II with a AMD T-Bird on an asus a7v133 board. I?ve read that putting too much pressure on the CPU from the heatsink may crack the core. My questions is there a particular method like installing it at a side angle and then clipping it or just put the whole thing on top of the processor and use a screwdriver to press down on the clip? I read that shims can?t be used for this HS. Any suggestions?

<< Try those to sites. But basicly just be careful and take your time. If your worried about breaking the cpu you should try a better heatsink. One that is easier to install like a swiftech or the new alpha 8045. >>

hahahahaha! you called the 8045 "easy to install"!!!! Believe, after having spent over 3 hours last night installing my new 8045; it is NOT easy. It is a PITA, but well worth it IMO.
