Ive wandered all over the web and stumbled into this place. From the looks of some of these posts.... Im in DEEP! So... here goes. ( No snickering....) I have a D-Link DGS 1016D switch that the fan went out in. The numbers on the fan are : T & T 4010m 12f nd8 0.16a 12vcd. I have searched for this, but all that comes up is the Switch. Like I said .. Im a Newbie, and any help on locating this fan or something compatible would be AWESOME, and I would burn candles in your honor for your help. My ignorance is so huge on this, its amusing.
Thanks

It looks like it has a 40mm fan. You're goign to have to take the fan out and look at the numbers on it and measure it. I would just start looking around my local scrapheap till I found a suitable fan with similar dimensions. Then I would make sure they bot run off the same power, probably 12V. Then I would install the new fan with the cover still off and see if it actually worked.

For a fan that small - probably 40mm square by 15mm/20mm thick - it is likely a black/red 2 wire fan that runs at a constant speed. Probably any quality fan with the same dimensions will do and you could put a quieter one it from a different manufacturer as long as the specs were close - anything 12v running .10a to .16a or so. One of the oldest mods/repairs to computer power supply fan has worked that way for ~20 years.
