I am new to the field of CDR recording and don't seem to understand what is happening here. I have imaged my hard drive into several 634mb data files that I am trying to record onto CD's. I am using a 12x AOpen CRW 1232A with the latest firmware and Nero 5.5.5.1 (latest version). I was sucessful in creating a backup cdr set in this manner using cheap 650mb media, but I wanted to be sure I had a good set, so I purchased what I thought was high quality Memorex 16x 700mb cd's. The problem is that Nero doesn't recognize that there is media in the Aopen. What am I missing?

The manual says 700MB is OK. The drive can also read a 700MB disk. I can't understand why Nero doesn't accept it as recordable media. Anyone have problems like this before?

What is the EXACT error message the Nero is giving you?

There is not an error message, it just kicks open the cd tray and gives me the message to insert recordable media. I have tested this unit with several types of media and apparently it just doesn't like Memorex. I tried two different Memorex 700MB's (16x and 12x) and it won't accept either. 700MB Sony's are fine and so is just about everything else. Crazy! I will try to return those. Thanks for your replies.
