Newbie Camera Phone question

I could probably look it up somewhere online, but I figure I'll get faster and better responses here. Plus I'm sure to get a couple smartass comments about how stupid my question is, or how I will get pwned, or how in Soviet Russia the phone uses me to take a picture.....anyway on to my point------

When using a camera phone can I download the pictures to my computer like a digital camera? How many pictures would a camera phone hold? Can I only email the pictures to somewhere (like my email account or other phones)?

I like the idea of a small digital camera to take with me but I don't foresee myself using a camera phone to take one pic and then email to myself or send it to someone else with a camera phone. TIA

Let me clarify. I like to be able to use a cam phone to take a couple (10?) of pics and then when I get home to my PC I can upload them to my PC and/or website. But if a cam phone only holds 1 pic and then I have to email it to myself or to another phone I don't think I want it.....clear as mud?

my sony ericsson t610 holds 20ish pictures at the higher res... you can either email them to yourself, which would be a pain. i bought a bluetooth usb adapter to connect to my phone.

I have a Motorola V400, uses a .3megapixel camera (640x480), file sizes range between 25-50kb at this resolution. I had 4 pictures, equaling 152kbs, divided by 4, 38kb a picture average. Phone holds 5458kb, so technically, at 38kb each, it can hold 143 pictures, without anything else downloaded.

My phone has 5 downloaded ringtones (all around 150-200kbs each), 6 downloaded games (between 15kb-100kbs), and about 6 pictures taken. I have used 1505kb of space. I still have another 3952kb left! I could easily make more room by getting rid of some of the ringtones (I really only use 1 or 2).

I uploaded all my ringtones via USB cable which hooks from the phone to the PC. I can download images from my phone to my PC easily with Motorola Software.

If you have any more questions, be sure to ask. I just got my phone the other day, and I'm still playing around with it.

I have yet to fill up my Samsung E715, and it has well over 40 pics on it. To transfer them, I can either use the cable or irda.

no. depend how your manufacturer make your phone. it is always hassle to transfer pic from the phone to pc. you can email it to yourself, but it will cost about $.25 to send one. there are many way to transfer beside email. get a OEM USB cable for your phone to connect to the computer. if both of ur comp and phone has Ir, then just beam it. bluetooth will work like infrared too.

How many pictures would a camera phone hold?
My phone has 5mb for me to do whatever I want with it. assume each pic is 30kb, do the math and tell me how many pic I can hold in my phone. most phone can hold alot of pic.

camera phone is really crappy, can't compara with a real digicam. if you want good pic, get a digicam. you can send the pic as a MMS to your friend's cellphone instead of email it to yourself and send it to them.

I didn't think I would be using it, but its great to just sit the phone down on the table, and just talk regularly.

I didn't find it a hassle at all to move pics from my V400 to my PC. I installed a Motorola program, patched it. Go to Multimedia, there it gave me the folders on my phone for both audio and images. Upload whatever images/audio I want on the phone by draging file and placing in folder. Download by dragging from folder to PC. And thats it, you can upload and download with ease.

Installing games was a PITA though! I finally got it working though, and well worth it .

V400 rocks!

hell yea for speakerphone! i don't bother with the games, I can just download it via WAP as easy as eating a pie.

Yes.

You have to buy the data cable for your phone or get a bluetooth adapter for your pc if it doesn't already have one and that your phone has bluetooth.
