im lookin to build a pc anywhere from 600-1000 probably... prob needs a decent grpahics card but nothing amazing, cs and wc3 is as far as i go... and i just need it to work well with lots of applications running[like photoshop illustrator etc]... any motherboard and/or graphix card combo suggestions would be nicee

Okay if you need the help :)

cpu: Intel Q6600

Motherboard: Gigabyte P35 DS3R, Asus P5k deluxe..... theres lots

cooling: Arctic cooling freezer pro (no overclock). Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme or tuniq tower if overclocking

video: ATI x1950pro or XT

ram: any 2gb kit, maybe you will want two 2x1gb kits (4GB) for the apps you work on (DDR2-667 or DDR2-800)

PS: corsair, seasonic, fortron,

HDD: two 160GB HDD in raid 0, one 500+ GB for storage

thats just off the top of my head

hardrive i got a 320gig thats good enough for me for now...
cooling? a few fans won't do for the amount of stuff i do?
also before i scramble offlookin for the bestprices... any estimate on how much all that will run me?

Mwave had the q6600 for $280, but may have raised the price by now as demand is high. I use newegg and Fry's.com when my local Fry's store runs out of stock. Fry's has the 6550 with Intel motherboard for $229 in today's ad; good until tomorrow.
