PCI-16 has usb univ. hub controller
PCI-16 has 9800 pro on it as well
PCI-23 has enchaned pci
PCI-23 has fasttrack on it was well.

Welcome to the forums jonasumb :)

You don't usually need to worry about the IRQ sharing with today's OS's... why not? Info about that. I would particularly not worry about any alarming-looking info that you get from SiSoft Sandra.

About the two video cards showing in Device Manager... what video card do you have now? Also, it would be good to proceed in this order when setting up Windows on your new system:

Hope these help someone... :)

Is there a proper order for installing the operating system, service packs and drivers on the 8INXP?Here is the routine that Intel strongly suggests for Intel-based motherboards:
  1. Fresh Operating System Installation
  2. Latest Service Pack or Patch
  3. Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility (INF Utility)
  4. All other device drivers
  5. Intel® Application Accelerator if needed
  6. Microsoft* DirectX* 8.0 or higher

Depending on your video card, you may be asked by the video-card driver package to install DirectX first before installing the video drivers, in which case you should do that. :)

In Control Manager you will see 2 Display drives with the 9800 Pro, one is your primary and one is your secondary.
Ati uses this for a dual display setup which can support 2 monitors, that's why 2 show up.
Ati has a utility called Hydrovision that works with a 2 monitor setup.
If you connect another monitor it will show up on your screen without another videocard.
The IRQ's are a window thing and that's alright if more than one share an IRQ
Don't worry about the 2 monitor devices.
You can only use 1 anyway if you only have one monitor connected.
You can delete the other secondary monitor through Add Remove programs and click uninstall, there you will be able to put a check in the box to uninstall it.
I wouldn't do this, because windows will reinstall it after you boot up. so just leave it alone, it's there if you ever decide to use it.
Did you install the Catalyst 3.6 drivers from ATi's websight. They seem to be the best so far.

Hello and thanks for the help. Will I see better performance if my 9800 is on its own irq?

Maybe, but not by dabbling in Device Manager, so much as making sure you don't have PCI cards in PCI slots that share an IRQ with your AGP slot.

Look on page 2-15 of your manual and you'll see that it's actually a non-issue, since the AGP slot is sharing its IRQ only with the onboard USB controllers at the hardware level, and not with any of the PCI slots. So I wouldn't mess with success, if it works normally.

If it doesn't work like it ought to, then you may want to start fresh using the routine I posted there, if you didn't before. Intel implies that the order in which you proceed can be important.
