Newb question regarding droid...

I have a new Boost Mobile LG Marquee phone (Droid 2.3). I can't get my damn phone to be seen by my PC so I can transfer music and movies. I've tried downloading the USB driver(s) from LG's website for the "sprint" LGLS855 and installed them (I think it was three seperate files? Maybe just two?)
Still a no go. The information on Boost's website was useless. I did go to the connectivity menu in my settings and set the preference to "Mass Storage" rather than "power connection only"... but there were no pop-ups, notifications, or anything to force through the USB connection of my phone... and Windows 7 64-bit professional won't see the device either.
Thoughts / suggestions?

Oddly enough, a restart (with a blue screen in the middle) seemed to fix it after trying to do all the stuff I previously mentioned.
It's so rare that I have to restart to get something working in Windows 7... so, at least I got that part working... now to get my 16 GB SDHC card working with the phone...

You might have to format the sd card IN the phone. I had to do that with my original Moto Droid in order for it to recognize it.....
