I think I remember reading that SLA9V = G0. Is SLA9V the only one available or there others I should be wary of?

No, you are fine. if you decide on the 6750, you will 100% sure get a G0

Yes. Note: My ASUS mobo needed a just release BIOS update to recoginze G0 stepping.

All of the new 1333FSB models are G0.
