Newb question about lens compatibility

Yes this is probably a dumb question but I'm asking it anyway.

I just got a Pentax Kx and I'm looking at picking up another lens. Not sure which just yet but my question is this:

Do I have to buy Pentax lens or will other brands also fit on my camera?

other brands make lenses that mount to pentax bodies, mostly sigma and tamron. tokina lenses may not be available in k mount because tokina lenses are often rebadged pentaxes.

iirc, some k mount lenses may not work; i think some of the ricoh and chinon k mount cameras weren't quite the same as pentax k mount.
