Newb has a question about transferring files

I know this is probably a very basic question for most of you but I am not as familiar with networking as I would like. I am working on changing that though

Anyway, I have 2 computers connected together through an SMC Barricade 4 port router and they are sharing my cable connection.

My question is this: I want to be able to share files between the two without comprimising the firewall between them and the net. I have been using ICQ to send files back and forth but I KNOW there is an easier and better way, just not sure how. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

What operating systems? If they are win32 based, then all you need is NETBeui protocal setup for both, and appropriately shared.

Windows 98 is the OS

Install NetBEUI on both computers, and Share.
