New Yorkers.......has anyone seen basketball at Rucker Park?

Has anyone seen basketball played at Rucker Park? When they have those tournaments, is it open to the public? Do people play there everyday?

Ive never been to NY, but I know at some point in my life I have to make the pilgrimage to Rucker Park. Basketball runs in my veins, and Rucker Park is my Mecca.

One of my friends got invited to play htere...but hes scared to go cuase hes white...he was playing w/ these 2 black guys and they held the court for 3 hours...I guess after they wanted him to go to rucker park w/ them
He plays at a court in Manhattan, I guess it was on the game nba street, and hes seriously the only white guy there...they nicknamed him the white jordan...he used to not wear shorts when he went down there cuase he wasn't too serious...and whne he'd school them they'd be like man, white boy doesnt' even respect u enough to wear shorts...I guess he was called son a lot and they talk a lot of sh1t...
The kid has no moves whatsoever, no handles, he just has a b1tch of a fadeaway...as in dribble, pullup and fade and he hits it most of hte time
The other thing he said was they all have lots of badass moves but can't shoot for sh1t...
One time he played a game of 21 at like 11:30 at night, he won it straight up, on 21 they told him to shoot a free throw to prove it, he made it, they told him to shoot again, he made it, they told him to go to the 3 point line to shoot it and he missed...and lost...
I guess one time some guy on the and one mix tapes showed up and dribbled the ball all the way upcourt w/ his knees

i'm pretty sure its open to the public. From the Rucker Park videos i've seen, people just line up like mad and its get in where you fit in, as long as you're not on the court. People hangin from trees and lightposts just to watch the games.

I've also got to make the trip out there to catch a game. Must be an experience, especially if an NBA player balls up there. I read Stephon Marbury was runnin there just a few days ago.

Well if you're talking about the AND1 mix tapes with the best street ball moves and stuff, just search ebay for and1 mix tapes.

If you're talking about videos of the actual rucker park games, there used to be a guy on ebay that sold em. all you had to do was search "Rucker Park" and they'd be there. They were about 10 bucks each and he had all the good tapes, with Skip 2 My Lou, Allen Iverson, Vince Carter, the All Star game, etc. But i don't see where he's at now. I don't know where you can get them now.

I sold my originals but i dubbed the Iverson, Carter, and All Star game videos. If you want a copy PM me and maybe we can work something out.

the whole game start to finish. its shot handheld from the stands though, but they're dubs of the official tapes they used to sell.

I guess he actually played there...it was some league game that he got invited to play on...
I talked to him on aim today and conversation went like this
him: "I played at rucker last week"
him: "I am white"

him: "theyre hardcore, they keep stats n sh1t"
