New Yorker magazine editor and Pulitzer-Prize winning author David Remnick accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday of endangering Israel, interfering in U.S. elections and aligning with Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in a "neocon strategy" against U.S. President Obama.
why can't this guy just shut his cryhole? i mean, seriously, he's just making himself look more desperate trying to get the US to fight the war with Iran.

So a leftist decides to attack Netanyahu for going against the dear leader. Not surprised at all

The PM does raise a point because if obama wins then its a disaster for Israel

When you have no argument, just scream Leftist! Leftist! Leftist! & jump on the Zionist pity-pot. Poor Jews! Poor Israel! Everybody's against them! Oh God! Oh Disaster!

That solves everything.

%23 of Israelis approve of conflict with Iran. Netanyahu the neocon has a lot of problems to deal with at home.

Iran's growing power and influence in the region isn't only a issue for Israel. Arab Gulf states in the region are also making moves behind the scenes to ensure that the balance of power in the region does not further tilt toward Tehran.

A nice piece of propaganda with maybe a partial grain of truth for mainly only the House of Faud in Saudi Arabi.

As for the rest of the mid-east, they are hedging their bets. As Ethic Arabs, they will not accept ethic Persian domination of the brand X Shia Muslim variety, but then again, there is no real evidence that Iran even seeks that mid-east dominace. As for you Dacati, the bigger mid-east universal fear and current reality is domiance by Israel. And when Iran is the enemy of their common enemy in Israel and Western dominace, many Arab countries already have pre-existing contingency plans to side with Iran.

When hell with freeze over before a single mid-east nation will side with Israel under any contingency.

Given that Iran is trying to throw her weight around w/ respect to the Gulf, supporting Syria and the Shia in Iraq, and attack Israel via proxies; how can you with any type of straight face stand up and state that Iran has no intentions of being a power in the ME

Dominace to do what? Survive? Israel isn't a threat to any nation which doens't plan on attacking it. It isn't expanisonist in philosophy. The main issue is with Iran and its nuclear program.

Iran? It's still very active in terrorist activities and I don't need to create a list from the last century. I'm talking the current powers that be and within the last several years. Which countries in the region support Assad? It isn't Egypt.

And when Iran is the enemy of their common enemy in Israel and Western dominace, many Arab countries already have pre-existing contingency plans to side with Iran
Well do tell! Iran's Generalissimo has said that if Israel targets Iranian nuclear facilities Iran in turn will attack US military bases in the region. Which countries signed off on that one? Which national governments are as batshit insane as that? They don't like us and they don't like Israel, but they sure as hell don't want a piece of that. Of course you could show us where they would, but you can't.

When hell with freeze over before a single mid-east nation will side with Israel under any contingency.
If you haven't noticed there isn't any love for Iranian leaders. Egyptian leadership all but called them nuts and everyone else is suspicious and frankly unhappy that Iran seeks to cause conflicts in the region by their behaviors. They like seeing the west frustrated since it's amusing to them, but that does not mean they accept the crazy in the room as a neighbor they just adore or respect or even like. Immadinnerjacket and/or his selected heir will stir up crap and no doubt your soulmates which killed over a koran burning will cause problems, but active military support? Good luck with that because you will need it. Israel has dominance in one thing, and that's the ability to defend itself. You want to see that in action because it would send the region up in flames. Just think how you could preach then?

As for others Iran should just STFU, allow inspections and not play games, and get a deal for LEU so they can have nuclear power if that's the goal. If not? Well then there's no basis for trust. You might want to ring up the Generalissimo and let him know that attacking US bases isn't a good idea though. No, that goes against what you want. Urge him on.

Netanyahu is concerned about a nuclear Iran.

What he seems to be ignoring, is a conflict with Iran could reach global proportions if russia and china were to interfere.

Yeh- there's no economic embargo of Gaza, nor of the West Bank, and the West Bank doesn't have Israeli checkpoints everywhere. Israel didn't destroy some Syrian facility a few years back, and they didn't occupy parts of southern Lebanon for over a decade. They didn't attack Lebanese infrastructure over a border skirmish with dissidents, and they didn't litter the place with unexploded cluster ordnance on the eve of a ceasefire. They haven't engaged in assassinations in a variety of countries throughout the region, either. And they never built a wall between Palestinian farmers & their fields. They don't nibble off pieces of Palestinian property, claim it for Israel.

They're just terribly, terribly misunderstood.

Israel engages when they feel their security is threatened and sometimes they are wrong. Iran isn't so fussy.

Russia and China will pound the table. Iranian leadership has said it will strike US bases if Israel attacks. They don't want any part of that crazy.

How are palestinian children a threat?

Because one day that child will grow into an adult. So go ahead and kill them while they are children.
Ahh, yeah you didn't see that "sometimes they are wrong part".

In another world a long time ago there was this magical place. In that wonderful land sometimes smiling children would come out to greet us. But being bad weapons were raised. Do you know why?

The west Bank and Gaza are territories controlled by Israel; not Egypt of Jordan.

Both gave up their claim of state control.

Israel didn't destroy some Syrian facility a few years back
A nuclear reactor that did not exist and syria would not let anyone in to verify it's claims :p,

and they didn't occupy parts of southern Lebanon for over a decade Israel went into Lebanon with one purpose - to clean out the rats nest of the PLO and ilk.

They didn't attack Lebanese infrastructure over a border skirmish with dissidents, and they didn't litter the place with unexploded cluster ordnance on the eve of a ceasefire.
Israel was at war with Hezbollah, people the the Lebanon government tolerated - the same people that attacked Israel itself.

They haven't engaged in assassinations in a variety of countries throughout the region, either.
who have they targetted for assination - terrorist leaders, bomb makers that have attacked Israel.

And they never built a wall between Palestinian farmers & their fields. They don't nibble off pieces of Palestinian property, claim it for Israel.

It is not Palestinian land; there is no Palestine at this point. the Arabs did not want a Palestine state - it would be a defacto admission of Israel's right to exist.

Israel build a wall to stop the attacks origination from the West Bank area. they allowed the Palestinian people living their an opportunity to self police - they failed to contain the attacks.

They're just terribly, terribly misunderstood.
bold

Israel is no angel - they have done what is needed to survive; surrond by states that have attempted to eliminate them.

Locals were allowed to stay within the boundaries of Israel.

Many chose to run and now want it back.
