Read the Comments too. Trump is trampling on the Constitution, education, decent values, anything except for his complete domination in the USA. This can't be tolerated!

This is paywall penetrating for 14 days, i.e. until May 2, 2025:

A few paragraphs in:

It’s time for a comprehensive national civic uprising. It’s time for Americans in universities, law, business, nonprofits and the scientific community, and civil servants and beyond to form one coordinated mass movement. Trump is about power. The only way he’s going to be stopped is if he’s confronted by some movement that possesses rival power.

And even with that it appears that most voters thought he was a better choice than Harris.
Humanity has known for thousands of years that the earth is round and yet there was a time when people were considered heretical for thinking otherwise.

Just because a plurality of people made a choice doesn't mean it's the correct one.

lol I guess you aren’t familiar with righty logic. At the same time they’ll tell you that if a majority of people voted for a Democrat ran government its tyranny by the majority, all while ignoring a president who is literally rounding up people and sending them to prison without a criminal trial.

Obviously not. But the reality is that it's the choice we have to live with.

David Fucking Brooks.

This guy has been molding MAGA for the past 30 years and now he's noticed what he's created.

His response: somebody do something!

Classic.

Think he's the mouthpiece of the billionaire class.. saying what they're thinking but no one has any guts to say it out loud!

I don't think impeachment or anything will get rid of him.. because the threats to congress are real.

Last time it was J6 and we saw how scared they were then.

It'll take a revolution.. that even his thugs start being afraid.

Unfortunately with a revolution.. you need martyrs.

In the Philippines and Romania.. the army beat up the protestors and killed em en masse till it enraged more and more and the crowds got bigger.

But since we seem to be willing to pay the 2A price everyday.. it might not be a huge ask as much as it seems.

You don't call for something like impeachment and assume it fails from the get go. You call for it to build public momentum for taking these actions. And it helps to highlight how your opponent is operating outside the law, and helps you maintain public legitimacy, which has inherent actions come next.

Just like JAQ-offs with [name a rightwing topic] didn't just publish shit for years for no reason. They were doing it to create a false idea of public debate and move the public perception of their pet issue.

LOL I hope they enjoy their tax cuts.. in reality they're probably paying him more off the books than the government would tax them!

No, they are in a cult, controlled by someone that hates the same things and people that he hates. Thought in no way was part of their process. If they actually had a thought, it "he hates the same people I hate"

Well, look at the scared little puppy, that rolls over and exposes their vulnerable underside, how republicanisk of you. We fucking fight, everyway we can. We protest, we blow up the phone lines and email boxes of the fucking cowards in congress that are supposed to represent us, and defend the constitution.

You wear your cowardice proudly, don't you. I just received some "RESIST" t-shirts and car magnets. Have you ordered your "OBEY" merch yet?

Not much point in promoting an uprising if you can't turn a profit on it. Everyone has bills to pay.
When your small box of Kellogg's cereal for your kids cost $15 - $20, cause it made in Canada, that is also a bill you have to pay, idiot. When the starter needs replacing on your car needs replacing, that $500 - 800 part is a bill you have to pay.

If stupidity was painful, republicans would be in constant agony...

Just ignore the MAGA fanatic posing as an "unbiased observer". You all know his schtick by now.

I have to say though, fuck the NYT for the role it has played in getting Trump to the WH for a second time, then talking about uprisings. They're following the money, and they think the money is in dramatic news events, like a corrupt demented moron getting into the WH a second time or getting their guys front row seats on a revolution.

And yet your attitude "the plurality chose trump so I'm cool with that"
Yes, that's correct.
It's notable that "plurality of voters" has suddenly become the proper description of Trumps win. The majority of voters elected him, those that didn't vote don't count. Splitting hairs doesn't make Trump less of a president, it's just sour grapes, get over it.

Is a majority more or less than 50%?

Let me help you with that.

majority

noun

ma·jor·i·ty mə-ˈjȯr-ə-tē
-ˈjär-

pluralmajorities
Synonyms of majority
1
a
: a number or percentage equaling more than half of a total.

Trump won the national popular vote with a plurality of 49.8%. NOT a majority.
