Unless you can write off you lease as a business expense which is probably what he is doing

Yeah, except commercial car insurance is also more expensive, so that'll negate a lot of the benefit of the deduction.

Not all leases come with those terms. Maybe you got a lease and want to defend it, but sorry, it's conventional wisdom that buying is almost always better than leasing. I'm sorry you didn't know.
Your source is from a site called lifehacker? The article is written by a no-nothing and is filled with bullshit wrapped in conjecture.

In our example, the car loan monthly payment is $608 a month; the lease is $350 a month for the first 3-year lease and then $385 a month for the last two years (because a second lease is initiated).
Could you explain, because she doesn't, why a second two year lease in involved? While you're at it, explain how it is that a used car is being leased. It's just not done. But I await your reply.

This example doesn't have any extra mileage fees, but if you drove 5,000 miles over the agreement, at 20 cents a mile, that would cost you $1,000.
Good to know. Is that factored into her calculations? You know, the one's she never actually makes, never documents?

Click on the link where another site did the heavy lifting of making the calculations for her. Although the article you linked is from 2011, the link is still good. Why, the differences in leasing vs. buying is huge! It's not, just a little over $300. And in one scenario, it actually makes more sense to lease.

You get the dumbass award today. But hang tight because the day's not over yet, you could get unseated.

How about Consumer Reports?

http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/2012/12/buying-vs-leasing-basics/index.htm

If you have the cash flow, buying a car is almost always the better option from a financial perspective. If you are the kind of person who has money to burn and likes to always have a new car a lease can be attractive but that's a personal lifestyle judgment, not a financial one.

Oh you must be confused, I don't respond to your posts anymore. Remember how you always bitch out of discussion that makes you uncomfortable? So yeah that's why. But your posts are good for a laugh, so thank you for continuing to post your gym ownership-infused wisdoms in your retirement.
