microcenter if there is one near where you are going. I would check availability first.

Yes it`s near, i can pick a Taxi to the store

I`ll ckeck it, thanks a lot, I`ll stay there from June 1 to June 11 do you think it will be possible to take it? I mean about the stock because it`s a new product

Any other store suggestion?

Thanks

Local store don't carry high end card, they don't sell.
Maybe you can order from newegg.com when you get to NYC, they have warehouse in NJ.

There is no Microcenter in the 5 boroughs so a cab driver is not obligated to take you there. I think the closest to NYC is the Yonkers location.

The best places to get tech in NYC tend to be J&R (downtown by city hall) or B&H Photo (in midtown). B&H is closed on Saturdays. Although as the previous poster said, it is always hard to source the really high end stuff in retail.

The microcenter in Paterson, NJ is your best bet brick and mortar wise. Its only like a 30-40 min drive from Manhattan.

Huh?

Microcenter does carry high end cards, so if he's near one he can likely buy one. It isn't typical to buy high end hardware in the states anymore at other more common retailers (eg Best Buy), but there are a few outliers in major metropolitan areas - Microcenter being one of them. Even Tigerdirect in some cities.

But most folks in the states never buy hardware in person, and have to order online.
Actually he might be right. Just checked MCs site, their selection is very limited.

I just had a really good idea. Amazon lets you ship to storage lockers now and there is a shitload of them around NYC. So order to the locker a few days before arriving and it should definitely be there on time. Paying with cash is a bit of a problem maybe a prepaid card or whatevers available in brazil.

I think that the prepaid cards are not alowed to make purchases at websites like amazon or neweeg? Or i'm wrong?

Anyway, i'll check all the stores at day 1 of my trip, ifi can't find i'll buy online at Amazon or neweeg, i just hope that some website have this in stock to ship for meuntill mylast day at NY that will be june 11

Guys i bought the 2 780 at amazon, the store that will ship is tigerdirect, is it a good store?

Payed $649.99 and the shipping estimate is:

delivery estimate: May 31, 2013 - June 5, 2013

Do they generally ship at the estimate date? Because i`ll stay at the US just untill June 11

Thanks

Tigerdirect is OK. They're generally reliable, slower than Amazon direct because they ship from CA.

As long as you have a place to hold it until your trip, you'll get the cards.

You should be fine as long as there is someone to sign for them when delivered. You should get a better idea on the eta once they are shipped.
