i'm thinking of visiting NYC this weekend and would like to know if there's still too much snow on the ground. i'll probably do some walking around in addition to riding the train so i'd like to know before i make my decision to go or not.

also, this is my first time going so are there any tips and caveats?

overall its dried, there are some snow/ice around.. depends where you're going... no 7 train on weekends.. so visit the mta site before taking the trip..

also its chinese new year on sunday, chinatown will be closed for parades, etc.. sat will be huge shopping day...
