this is pretty awesome! you must switch it to 720p or 1080p, 60 fps mode to get the full effect.

the quality makes it looks just like it was filmed today

but then you see the world trade center, and cigarette ads, and boxy cars everywhere, and women who look like this:

AH LOL I just wanted to refer to the same exact scene where you posted the picture.
It always amazes me how (in the US), people in the 90s still looked like people from the 80s :)

where are their smartphones? :D

City infrastructure and business attire look similar to what we have today. The obvious difference is lack of personal electronic devices, and older cars.

Plus this the short, black cocktail dress. I wish these would make a comeback

pretty good!
how come the hd vhs tech never caught on?

If I remember correctly it was stupid expensive, players for it were stupid expensive and it had some kind of early DRM that prevented making copies, nobody had an HD TV and most importantly...
The porn industry didn't back it.

1993...? It looks so 80s?

Without other cultural cues, clothing and architecture aren't going to look that different from the middle of one decade to another. The mid 2000s don't look that different from now - or at least they won't to people looking back at the decades 20 years from now - unless you are seeing tech like the cell phones people are using, or the cars they are driving. Year-specific trends in styles and fashion aren't as memorable as the general style of a decade... and plenty of styles are either "classic" or don't change that quickly, especially more so for men than women.

You'll notice plenty of the men wearing suits wouldn't look at all out of place today. Heck, you could even go back in time 60 years or more and some of the businessmen wouldn't look too out of time if you brought them into the present.

That sure looks nice and sharp. Does anybody know what jazz song it is in the second half of the video ?
Title is probably : "Autumn in New York".

I would love to see leggings back with boots and curly long hair.

I like about 2 seconds later when ponytail guy looks back to check to check the brunette out. Honestly, I missed the cocktail dress because the brunette is pretty hot too.

You guys act like this is ancient history. I was halfway through college that year. And like 95% of the people in that video, I was rocking an 80s car still (87 Toyota). So the cars make it seem even older than it is.

Basically, this is almost like the narrative lead in / explanation by Morpheus... this is society, right before the internet took off. We had computers, pagers, etc, but the term "online" was not in the average person's lexicon. It wasn't as bad as you think it was. Some of it I miss. Some I don't.
