New Year's resolution

Okay, so it's a bit late, but I made a New Year's resolution today. I was thinking about it and I think that life in general is made up of habits. If we can master habits we can accomplish goals a lot easier - exercise every day, eat well, etc. It simply comes down to a simple, reptative task, like with dieting - saying no to that piece of junk food. It's not some major change, it's just a constant small action. So anyway, my room and my desk are incredibly messy. I have to hop over three bins to get to my computer right now. It occurred to me that if I made a small change - if I picked up after myself - I wouldn't have this problem. My room would never ever get messy if I simply put away everything that I took out. Take off my shoes, put them in my closet. Take off my socks, put them in the laundry bin. Burn a CD, put it in my CD case. Since I don't practice that simple action, my room has because a mountain of...junk. So I figure, if I can master this one little habit, my life will be a lot nicer simply for the fact that I can walk in my room without tripping.

actually it gets easier and easier as time goes on, at least for this type of resolution.

Obviously a Restraining Order is good motivation

I've heard that it takes 21 consecutive days to establish a habit for life. If you can do it for three weeks, you own it for life. The hard part is sticking to it till it gets easier 😛
