New Years 2001 - the real millenium kickoff???

Some of my religious fanatics are telling me this is when the real millenium is beginning.. at least in religious terms and that we should all be fearful. What are they talking about???

I don't know about you guys, but I'll be spending my new years in the underground nuclear shelter I built last year. I have room and supplies to last 5 years for 3 more people...PM me if you're interested!

It's all about when you start counting. Was the first year, "Year 0", or did it start at "Year 1"? What I mean is this: assume we are in B.C. Tomorrow would be 1 A.D., not 0 A.D. So it would take until 12/31 of next year for it to be the end of the first full year. So, it has to be at the end of 2000 for it be a new millennium.

Does that make any sense whatsoever?

About what those guys say that we should be fearful, 'coz God will do something terrible to the world and... bla bla...
Well, they said it too when the year 1000 started and nothing happened... So, I won't be worried at all.

Tomorrow is the start of the new millenium according to the Gregorian calendar which is the one we follow. God is not going to do anything. He knows we will end up doing it to ourselves out of our own stupidity so he is not wasting any extra effort.
